IELTS/TOEFL/PTE

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. IELTS is designed to test the ability of a candidate who either needs to study or work abroad where English is used as the main language of communication. Mainly IELTS is used for the entry into universities located in UK, USA and other countries.

IELTS is recognized by universities and different other employers in other countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK and the USA. IELTS is also largely recognized by professional bodies, immigration authorities and government agencies.

Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the most popular English proficiency exam which is broadly accepted by North American universities. TOEFL tests the usage of English for the international students and also their understanding of North American English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and universities. TOEFL test is developed, regulated and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) which sets the questions, conducts the test and send the examinee the score report.

Students are often confused that whether they need only TOEFL or IELTS or both. The acceptance of TOEFL score depends on different universities and their cut off marks.

The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) is an academic computer based English language test aimed at non native English speakers wanting to study abroad. The test comprises of reading, writing, listening and speaking as the sections for the exam. Questions are often 2 skills together such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. The whole test is done in a single session lasting for 3 hours and taken in a computer secure test environment. The speaking section of the exam is done through the computer where your voice is recorded and sent for marking. The test results are out for the examinee within 5 days of taking the exam.
